Kyle Plunkett - Co-Owner/Instructor


Kyle Plunkett is a native of White Hall, Arkansas. He began dancing at the age of 4 where his love of tap dancing defeated any of the other activities he was involved in as child. While working mostly in tap, his passion for contemporary and jazz enriches his unique approach to storytelling. 


In addition to performing locally for various events and shows, he has achieved numerous regional and national titles with his choreography. He has danced in television commercial work and has been published numerous times in Dance Studio Life Magazine for his insight as both a studio owner and competition judge. Kyle enjoys traveling to host master classes and contract work for choreography – partnering with various charities and schools across the nation where he enjoys inspiring students of all ages. He is proud to promote that Powerhouse Dance & Tumbling has become one of the most sought after studios in Southeast Arkansas and was recently selected as one of the regions “Best of The Best”!


Currently, Kyle is a featured competition judge for Talent On Parade. In addition, he has guest judged for nationally ranked competitions such as Star Power National Talent Competition, Dance Machine - Americas National Dance Championships, and The Edge National Talent Competition. He has been a Master Class Tap Instructor with Gear Up Dance Convention and is a proud member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) as well as an affiliate member of the Association Of Dance Conventions and Competitions (ADCC), where he has been selected to receive the Industry Excellence Award for Outstanding Judge. 


When Kyle is not teaching in the studio or traveling for work related activities, he enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family. Kyle is blessed and extremely thankful to be given the opportunity to inspire his students for a career and is so proud of each student that comes to take class through the doors of Powerhouse!


Miranda McHan - Co-Owner/Instructor


Miranda McHan is a native of White Hall, Arkansas. She started dance at the age of six, emphasizing her strengths in Jazz and Tap. In addition, Miranda has a true passion for both the Contemporary and Musical Theatre styles of dance. Miranda has had the privilege to share her love of dance with others by traveling to set choreography and serving as a guest judge across the United States. She is currently serving as a guest judge for both Triumph National Talent Competition and The Edge National Talent Competition. 


She has choreographed numerous award winning dance routines, high school flag lines, & pageants routines, earning countless Regional and National awards and recognition. As a young performer and competitor, Miranda has won numerous regional and national titles with several nationally accredited competitions. With select invites to both regional and national destinations, she’s performed in Panama City, Biloxi, Myrtle Beach, and Disney World to name a few. With hard work and dedication, she has helped grow Powerhouse Dance & Tumbling to become one of the most sought after studios in Southeast Arkansas.


In her free time, Miranda enjoys spending time with her husband Brian and her daughter Anna. Miranda is thankful to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with the students she teaches and looks forward to the new season!


Geena Plunkett - Instructor/Ballet Director/Media Design


Geena Plunkett is a native of Des Moines, Iowa where she first found her love for dance at the age of three. Alongside dancing, Geena also spent many hours training as an artistic gymnast. At the age of six, she was introduced and began training with the renowned Olympic Training Coach, Liang Chow. She was chosen among a select few to be a member of Chow’s Elite Olympic gymnastics team, training alongside world renowned Olympic Gold Medalist, Shawn Johnson. 


Geena’s extensive knowledge in dance, gymnastics, and acrobatics are highly sought out by many studios across the nation and keep her busy traveling most of the season. She is a proud member of Dance Masters of America with a Certification in Ballet and Acrobatics. While she has extensive training in ballet and acrobatics, Geena is also trained in contemporary, tap, jazz, and musical theatre. Geena has performed lead roles in The Nutcracker Ballet, Peter Pan, and Cinderella to name a few. She has also performed in commercials, promotional videos, and previously modeled for various magazine companies, as well as The Gap. She has choreographed for high school dance teams, show choirs, and enjoys traveling to host master classes and contract work for choreography for other studios across the nation- earning her multiple achievements throughout the years. 


In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends, her husband, their dog Peanut, and the newest addition to their family, their daughter Kynslee Marie. Geena is thankful to work with her students each week and is so proud to be a part of the powerhouse team for another year! 


Leroy Brown - Instructor/Director of Tumble & Cheer


Leroy Brown is native of Reed, Arkansas. He is a graduate from McGehee High School, where he first found his love for cheer with the High School Varsity Cheer Team. During his High School career, Leroy competed on an All-Star Team: Power Athletic Cheer. From 2008-2012, he cheered for The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, serving as Captain for 2 of those years. During this time, he become an instructor for The National Cheer Association, where he instructed camps in the states of Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. 


Leroy’s students have gone on to cheer at the collegiate level for universities such as U of A Fayetteville, Mississippi State, Arkansas State, UAPB and Howard University to name a few. He is now the Head Cheer Coach and the Assistant Director of Spirit Programs at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Among the many awards and accomplishments that he has received, his most memorable was being recognized as the 3rd Place Winner of the Paula Abdul “RAH Challenge Cheerleading Bowl” which was Nationally televised. 


Leroy enjoys hosting cheer camps and setting choreography annually for many local school districts in the Southeast Arkansas and surround areas. In his free time, he has found a love for cooking and enjoys traveling to visit his friends and family. He is excited to get the opportunity to work with the students of Powerhouse for another successful year and is thrilled to be a part of the wonderful team of staff he now calls family!


Maegan Hickerson - Instructor/Director of Competition


Maegan Hickerson is a performer, choreographer, and instructor originally from Redfield, Arkansas. She grew up in the dance studio, starting at age 3, and ended up choreographing and teaching by age 15. She was blessed to be sent all across the US to train and perform at different studios, competitions, and conventions, and by the time she was 17, had booked her first job in Los Angeles, CA. 


Maegan has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. After college, she joined Arkansas’s one and only professional tap company, Untapped. With them, she was able to be a guest instructor for the Little Rock Tap Festival two years in a row alongside well known tappers Nick DiNicolangelo and Anthony Morigerato. Maegan has also performed with the company Tap Sounds Underground at the Los Angeles Community Theatre, danced for CJ Edward’s Dance Crew for the Step Up 3D Soundtrack Premiere, and appeared in the films Mud (with Reese Witherspoon & Matthew McConaughey) and Valley Inn (with Joey Lauren Adams and Natalie Canerday), along with many other TV shows like The Politician and Younger. She has worked with Ouachita Baptist University, where she choreographed their spring musical, “Godspell” and most recently played a lead in the musical “Rock Of Ages” at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas.


While living in New York City, she trained under many wonderful instructors all across the city, and joined two professional dance companies, Vanessa Long Dance Company and Denise Caston and Company. With them, she has performed at venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Tank Theater in NYC, and Royal Oak Music Hall and The Magic Bag in Detroit, Michigan. 


Maegan enjoys working with many studios across Arkansas, freelancing choreography and hosting master classes. Currently, she is a featured judge for Talent On Parade National Competition. She has recently been promoted as Director of Competition for Powerhouse Dance & Tumbling and is so excited to be on the journey again this season with this team!


Grace McKissic - Instructor


Grace McKissic is a Pine Bluff, AR native where she first found her love for dance and gymnastics at the age of two. Grace attended one dance recital and her family says the rest was history. At the age of 8, Grace atteneded gymnastics camps at the former National Olympic Team Training Site where she would spend 6-8 consecutive weeks of her summers there training with some of the best coaches worldwide for 10 years. 


Grace has spent countless years perfecting her own signature style of performing, not only for gymnastics but for dance as well. Grace is trained in lyrical, tap, jazz, acrobatics and musical theater. She has performed as a backup dancer for Daddy Yankee, Diddy, and Pitbull. She enjoys performing locally for theatre and has been apart of Aladdin Jr., & Joseph and The Technicolor Dream Coat to name a few, but her favorite by far has to be her most recent performance in “Rock Of Ages” at the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas. 


When Grace is not dancing, she loves spending time a pageant consultant. She specializes in helping girls state and nationwide be the absolute best version of themselves and helping them find their own signature style. Grace is a former pageant titleholder for many organizations. She has been awarded many awards on the state and national level, but the biggest award to her is seeing breakthroughs happen within her students - that award is priceless! Grace enjoys traveling to collegiate and elite gymnastics meets where she can reconnect with some of her past co-workers and gym mates. She also loves attending other state and local pageants to continue showing her support and talent with others across the nation. 


In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, her 3 puppies, and most importantly her daughter Charlotte Faith - a new team member to the Powerhouse Dance & Tumblinv Competitive Team! Grace is so thankful for the opportunity to work with the amazing students at powerhouse this year and is looking forward to a fantastic season!


Kennedy Stanley - Instructor 


Kennedy Stanley is a native of White Hall, Arkansas. She began dance at the age of 13, where she first trained in studio dance and later trained under and alongside the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders at many clinics and workshops across Arkansas and Texas. She became a member of the Powerhouse Dance and Tumbling family in 2020, at the age of 17. She competed her senior year and trained in the categories of ballet, contemporary, hip hop, and jazz/acro.


Kennedy graduated from White Hall High School in 2021. She was a two-time Co-Captain and two-time All-American cheerleader, and was also a member of the steppers in her earlier years. She is now a proud student of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She is earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Services, and she is also a member of the UAPB Co-ed Cheerleading Team. Currently, she is a teacher for students of all ages in dance, tumbling, and cheer classes.


When Kennedy is not teaching her students, she loves to practice cheer and spend time with her friends and family. Kennedy is very excited to be a part of the Powerhouse Staff and is so proud to teach all of her students this season!


Taylor Boccarossa - Instructor


Taylor Boccarossa is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is a graduate of MK Studios/Powerhouse Dance and Tumbling. Her dance history began at the age of two and then she joined MK Studios from their opening in 2013 where she was the 1st recipient of the Platinum Achievement Award. 


This will be Taylor’s 4th season on staff with Powerhouse as an Instructor. Over the last few years, she has assisted and taught both Tumbling and Dance classes for a variety of students ages 2-18 years old. 


In her free time she loves to spend time with her friends, her family, her fiancé Nathan, and her animals! She is thrilled to be back this season again for another wonderful year of class!
